Power Windows a little erratic on HCH II??
Gotta love the HCH II. After having my HCH I for 2 years and putting on 40K, I got a HCH II. What a ride and I sure like all the extras (compared to my previous).
Now, only once in a while, the drivers window doesn't roll up or down smoothly. It acts as though it 'sticks' and the actuator (?) in the window reverses course real fast. So if I am trying to close the window, it will go up 2/3 of the way only to reverse course. ONce at 1/3 closed, it reverses course again. Possessed?
Kidding, but has anyone else experienced this??
Thanks much,
Lansing

How to make Power Windows a little less erratic
Roll the window down, spray silicone lubricant down both rubber window channels. Next take some 409, simple green, etc. an wet a rag or paper towel, and clean the heck out of the top part of the window channel. It will probably turn black with the road gunk that accumulates in there, especially the B pillar side channel. After you clean the channel, spray some more silicone lubricant in it. Then run the window up and down a couple of times, and you have just fixed your window regulator mechanism!

Thanks, guys...
I just don't want to get caught in a rain storm with my 'windows down'

Re: Power Windows a little erratic on HCH II??
Spartybrutus, solardek, do either of you know if your window was replaced?
I'm having the exact same problem with mine, however, my window is tinted and the dealer wants to replace it (per the service bulletin) w/o reimbursement for the tint. Regardless that it's a Honda issue.
Thanks,
Jess

Re: Power Windows a little erratic on HCH II??
That's exactly my point. $50 plus having to drive 30mins out of my way before work in the morning, drop the car off and drive 30mins out of my way to pick it up again after work. I'm considering going over the dealer's heads and contacting Honda myself about it.

Re: Power Windows a little erratic on HCH II??
Does anyone have access to the bulletin, or can we find out what it says? I don't know why window replacement would be necessary (I'm no pro). It would seem that the seals, actuator, or other assemblies would be affected. Speculation only.
But does anyone know what's in this bulletin??
Thanks..
