That noise...

That noise...
Since day one the car has made a weird noise, maybe normal? It's not loud enough to hear with the radio on but definitely audible with it off. It seems to happen only after a large charge session and it almost sounds like it's coming from near the hood release latch/floor board area. It sounds like "BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZ". It only does it for about five seconds each time and then it quits. Ideas? Am I the only one who has this noise? Not to be comical or anything but seriously, it almost SOUNDS like electricity...moving?

Re: That noise...
I am sure it's a normal noise, but I, like antinouskalisto, am curious.
It reminds me of the old days, e.g. with a '64 Buick, of way the dashboard clock worked. It was a wind-up clock that would automatically be wound by an electric motor. The sound was much like what my HCH makes, but the HCH is a bit louder and a lot more frequent.
Maybe it's the conveyor belt for the Purina mouse chow for the mice that run the auxiliary boost motor?

Re: That noise...
Totally normal, it's the IMA system...I think it sounds like a palm-size jet engine...haha I've definitely learned to like it. Also what Colby said- if it worries you don't hesitate to have it checked out by a professional.

Crap. I could have sworn we were running on hamsters

Re: That noise...
Actually, the Nav models run on homing pigeons, whereas the non-Nav HCH models are flexible fuel vehicles, using hamsters or mice.

Re: That noise...
Car and Driver mentioned that in a review of their HCH. They said that it frequently made beeping and whirring sounds. According to them, they said it had to do with the IMA system.
By the way, IMA stands for Intergalactic Mice Assist.
