Under what circumstances should one be done? What result should be expected normally?
I do this pwer reset thing 2-3 times a year just cause the car gets to re-learn things a bit as I get better. its handy and works ok.
I found about this reset in this hch2 article

I talked with the service manager today via email and he said they would only be able to cover 20% of the cost. I feel this is unacceptable. Does anyone know if a universal/custom cat could be installed/welded?

Server Manager at Honda Dealer:

Honda has responded and will not assist with this repair. The dealership can provide a 20% discount to help out with cost on the repair here. Let me know if you would like to do this.

Isn't there a PCM reprogram for a P0420? My local dealer said that The cat may not be bad, but the computer is being too sensitive. Anyone had this reprogram done yet?

Yes, there is a TSB and a reprogram for this, but it applies to the HCH I, not the HCH II. I had it done for my car, an '04.

Todd, maybe you can find a suitable replacement cat from a salvage yard, and have it installed?
What did the dealer say regarding your IMA battery problem?

Read my post in HCH at the dealer for service.

They declared the battery as bad and deteriorating
