Default Micron Air Filter

Has anyone found installation instructions for the supposed Micron Air Filter that we have. I have serious doubts that I have one (maybe the Canadian models don't get them in lieu of no trunk release but heated mirrors).
I have plenty of dust on my dash (and I never open the windows). My old Aztek had a hepa filter and worked beautifuly. I had no dust on my dash for weeks and noticed an improvement in my Asthma. On my Civic, I get dust as soon as I clean.
Thanks

Jason, the cabin air filter can be accessed by removing the glove box first. In normal operation it should be able to restrain most particulate matter before it enters the cabin. I know it works on mine as I never drive with the windows down as well.

I am curious though... do you have the vent control weel turned to allow outside air into the cabin? If I am not mistaken, this could be the source of your dust problems.

Cheers;

Yes, I have lots of air. Actually, the volume of air I get makes me think that there is no filter (I can blow up ballons with my vents).

Yeup, it's behind the glove box. There is a rubber stopper that you have to remove and then the glove box drops down even further than normal. You will see a white plastic box which houses 2 filters.

Sorry it may be different for 2006, I have a 2003.

BINGO- great advice.

So for those wondering, here are the instructions for a 2006.

Open glovebox (and remove contents)
push in both sides of the glovebox tray enough for the side posts pass the outer rim of the dash.
The glovebox will then freely drop down.
You will then see a black cover about 7 or 8 inches wide straight back. Use 2 hands and squeeze in the tabs (and pull out).
Voila- there is that Micron air filter.

I shook mine out and removed some leaves. I would recommend doing this everytime you get an oil change (at least to remove the bigger debris).

I wonder if there are any 3rd party HEPA-certified filters as replacements yet (if anyone knows- please post).

Thanks!

I use a vacuum cleaner once per mid change point to get out the majority of the particles caught.
