LA area buyers...what dealers are you using?
West LA here...anyone on here from the LA area? If so, has anyone put a deposit down on an '06? I'm wondering what dealers people are using. The two nearest to me left a bad taste in my mouth when I bought my '05 (ie, tried to charge me a $3000 markup).
Ultimately I'd like to put a deposit down and take delivery the first week of January (to get that sweet tax break)...has anyone done anything like that?
Thanks!
Brad

-Brad, I hope this helps. But I was able to use a Credit Union service called AutoLand. The car was actually purchased from a dealer in Oxnard, but the kicker is that with the Magnesium HCH MT 05, I was able to walk out with LA tax, license and everything at just over $21,000.
-With my experience with this broker, I'll never set foot in a dealership again.
-Oh, and though they bill themselves as just a credit union service, they will work with anyone. Just walk into a participating (in my case Wescom) branch and ask to see the rep.

I use Gary Smith Honda, it's actually Northwest Florida though * not Lower-Alabama (LA). Or do you mean Louisiana (LA)? Last guess, Los Angeles (LA)?
Taking wild guesses here.

I also got a quote from Autoland, via a referal from my credit union.
I then took that exact quote to Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos and they matched it.

I used Diamond Bar Honda after getting quotes online. Metro had the best one, but when I went in they tried to back off their written offer. Left a bad taste even though I had purchased cars there previously.
The Woodland Hills Honda dealership wanted $2500 above MSRP-- and that's not adding any features-- just $$$. They think that when the actual cars come in, they can put a $5000 markup. The guy said this is the only time they can get a bit of money off the cars (rather than at the end of the '06 season). And I'm supposed to feel sorry for them? Looks like I'll be shopping around some more.

The really sad thing is all the internet fleet managers I've contacted either don't know what they're going to charge or expect to get $2500-5000 above MSRP. Please let me know if there's anyone in the Los Angeles area willing to sell at MSRP.
thanks,
- Frank
