Good reading about the Texas trip, Per K.

I think that gets to the heart of the FE equation: You CAN rachet up the speeds in this vehicle .. IF you know how to drive the car. And that means watching the economy gauge and getting into glide modes, even at 75+ MPH.

Yesterday, President's Day, the freeways were empty here and so I enjoyed a hyper-aggressive driving day where 75-80 MPH was the norm ... and sometimes not quite fast enough. Cut the drive home from 40+ (traffic + HOV lanes) to about 25 min., which was great!

Net fuel economy on the trip: 55.6 miles, 43.0 MPG.

It's not 60 MPG, but it's also not 25 MPG.
