Surely a good driver rarely if ever needs his horn? At six months I can count on one hand the number of times I have sounded mine.

There is a need for it when the person in the other lane doesn't see you and THOSE times you want a horn to make some noise (since they will have their radio on, cell phone going, kid screaming, etc.) while other times I want to give a short "toot" to a friend I see on the sidewalk. With the OE horn I end up shouting out the window which is as effective and is not as embarrassing.

Does anyone know the current tone(s) of the stock horn? Is it one note or two. Is it an C, an A, a high-A or low-A, an E? If the stock tone is a high E then I could add a low E or an A and make it sound nicer than picking the same tone or one that is not as pretty. I was at the local Car store and wanted to pick up a horn to augment the stock horn but didn't know what note to choose. I've had cars before where you could hear the dual-note in the horn (maybe my '96 Accord was that way).

Then, after looking in the hood I could not see where the stock horn was. Usually you want to wire the new horn up to the same wires so they all work at once but does someone know where the horn is? I imagine down low by the bottom side of the engine but I just looked quickly. I'm sure this would be a good mod for some of us so one of us must know.

Six weeks to the day and a tad over 6,400 miles and ~35% oil life. Wheeeeeee. Already done the DRL mod, OE full nose mask mod, and OE mudflaps mod. No oil change mod yet.

Using your horn usually doesn't have anything to do with how good YOU drive, it's how badly OTHERS drive! I've had my car a little over a week and had to use the horn for the first time the other night on the highway because someone was trying to merge over on me. It definatly is a wimpy horn, I barley heard it myself!

You don't live in San Antonio. I don't use the horn to say "Hey, let me in!" or the like. I use the horn to (try to) get the attention of drivers who are inattentive and, through their actions or inactions, putting myself and my vehicle in jeopardy.
