HCH II: Techniques, Mods & Experiments

Re: HCH II: Techniques, Mods & Experiments
I would suggest you contact your Honda regional or national office to enquire on the availability and cost. Dealerships can also order some of the materials for you but be forwarned that they will likely overcharge ... Just make sure you inspect the wrapping on pickup to ensure they have not been illegaly accessed or duplicated.
You can also order some of the materials online.

Re: HCH II: Techniques, Mods & Experiments
I got the helm manual from ebay for about 50 bucks. I have had one of these for every one of the 5 hondas I have owned.
I cant imagine not having this book for the car I am driving.

I will have to keep my eyes on ebay-- $50.00 seems like a great price. You don't know if the person you purchased it from had more do you?

Re: HCH II: Techniques, Mods & Experiments
I think we have taken most of our HCH II apart at this point to better understand some of its limitations. We even drove it for a bit with the IMA switch off to get a sense of how much the electric motor assists-- we noticed a significant improvement in accelleration when we turned it back on. Also, we found out if the batteries go bad we can still drive the car on the ICE , which I don't think is possible on the prius.

Re: HCH II: Techniques, Mods & Experiments
Have you made any modifications to your HCH II? Have you considered making your HCH II plug in? Have you conducted any experiments regarding FE using your HCH II?
We are still strongly considering plug in and are still conducting some research and testing first.
