bought mine in feb/march. hch.ii with navi. 26k. oakland honda. the dealer marked up the price $2500 and would not come down. they said the car would sell that weekend so they weren't worried. most bay area dealers i imagine are going to mark up. go to roseville or further out if you can.

Hypermiling is the act of doing what you can to improve your mileage. You are officially a hypermiler when you exceed EPA average for 3,000 or more miles!

Don't know if it still applies a few years out, but when I bought mine in Jan 2006, I used one of the online auto web sites to request quotes, maybe edmonds.com or msnautos. I was able to select up to 5 dealerships near a zip code that I entered at one time filling in the form. This allowed me to get quotes and inventory info from around 20 dealers that are near to me.

In the end, Marin Honda was the only one that would sell at MSRP, which I took since it's a fair price. They definitely have an "online" price and an "in the flesh" price, and the online one is lower because they know you're comparison shopping and not emotionally vested in a specific physical car.

Check out Edmonds.com for current pricing and an average of what people are currently paying.
