Default General question about paint and ash from wildfires

I live in Los Angeles and the recent and current fires have generated a lot of ash (among other things). Is this something that could harm paint on cars in the long run? Or is it just like the normal dust/dirt?

Soot and Ash from a fire can be harsh on paint if it is wiped off dry. I would recommend taking the car to a brushless car wash and get the ash off of the car. It will not damage the paint by just settling on the car.
