Default 07 Civic Hybrid wheels and tires

The EX rims/tires are P205 / 55 R16 89H vs the OEM Hybrid set-up which is P195 / 65 R15 89S. As you can see, even though the stock rim is 15" (top tire), the tire is actually taller than the 16" rim/tire combination on the EX.

Click here to see the specifications of each tire size. The revs per mile are within 4 of each other.

For all practical purposes, the 2 wheel/tire combinations are 99.5221027479% identical to each other! However when I measured the speed of the car with the 16" wheels using the speedometer (which gets its number from the ABS speed encoders) vs. using a handheld GPS, the variance between the 2 was less than 1/10th of a mile. This was verified by using the GPS speed window from the Navigation systems hidden menus.

These tires have been on the car since November 06 and have 9K miles on them. Fuel economy has been in the 45-55 mpg range.

Gary,

As I thought you certainly did do your homework. I bet if one could see the car now these new tires and wheels give it a whole new Meaner Look.

Hope you did not overlook my Post about the Silverstars. They do work but there has been members that said they would not purchase them again because of shorter life span than stock bulbs.

My 06 HCH II is just over one yr. old and none of the 4-Silverstars have Burned out yet. I also have them in the wifes Mercedes and none of them have burned out.

Never thought to ask if you were thinking of any further improvements/changes to your new ride ???

Terry

Default 07 Civic Hybrid wheels and tires

FYI:

These tires and rims are still available at a reduced price of $600. It is never too early to get ready for winter, and these tires and rims can be your perfect "summer" tires to compliment your winter rims.

Price is exclusive of shipping and packaging.

Gary you have some really very nice accessories on your HCH II. The one that really has caught my eye/attention is the HID-Headlights. Looking at the Pics you provided they look really Bright. Much brighter than the Sylvania Sylverstar Bulbs I have installed. Care to add any further comments on the Headlights??? Do you know what the real difference is between the Kits that sell for $400.00 versus the less expensive kits for $200.00 or less ??? I'm really interested in this upgrade.

Default HID lamps

Terry:

There are many different levels of quality in the HID upgrades regardless of price. I exchanged several emails with the folks that I bought mine from, and found they were knowledgeable and the product was very high quality. I would recommend them. click here for their ebay store. The product is shipped from China, but you get it in just a few days.
