Thanks for the info. Based on your post I called to see if I could include oil changes with my warranty and they had no idea what I was talking about. I would appreciate if you could provide any information that might help. Thank you in advance.

 

The REAL Honda warranty, HONDA CARE includes oil changes and car rentals. Others may not. You have to read the fine print.

 

What? Can you find where your warranty states that? I got my warranty from Saccucci and have briefly reviewed it, but I don't recall seeing that general scheduled maintenance is covered.

I don't think that the oil change thing is available in CA for example.

 

Per my conversation with Honda of America, it is extremely rare for the extended warranty to cover oil changes. If it does, it is usually on a temporary basis and is up to each individual dealer.

 

That's false. There's a program called Honda Care Sentinel. It definately covers oil changes in most States but not CA or WA

 

Honda Care Sentinel is available in terms of 2/24, 3/36, 3/45, 3.5/42.

Only the 3/45 extends the warranty for the additional 9,000 miles.

Also, it does oil and filter changes only, at 7500 miles intervals, no additonal scheduled maintainence.

Individual dealers may offer their own 'maintainence pkg,' or
'oil change pkg.'

 

Thank you all for your input I will be purchasing extended warranty soon and will push the subject with the information I got from you guys. I’ll keep you all updated and thanks to all for making the experience of owning my HCHII so much better.

 

FYI, you can hold off till the 6K mile mark to purchase. They don't verify. I'm sure if you had service done and you were over the 6K they might throw you into the higher priced plan.
