Did I get ripped off on my 08?

Re: Did I get raped on my 08?
And to all the people whining about me using the word "rape", if you've actually been raped, I appologize, but if your just whining to sound self rightous then get over yourself, everyone else knows what I meant by it. Worry more about saving the earth and not as much about being politically correct.
For the "everyone else knows what I meant by it" on the board, here's an organization in Arizona that could use your donations: Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault, http://www.sacasa.org/index.html. Quoting them, "By the age of 18, 1 in 4 girls will be sexually assaulted and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused."

Re: Did I get ripped off on my 08?
I read the guys thread about how much people paid for their 07, now I want to know what people are paying for their 08's. I paid 26100/otd with Nav/tint/splash guards, etc(the things they say cost 1500). I live in Az and the msrp is 25k with that stuff before tax, title, etc. Then of course the financing is the tricky place. I purchased the warranty(5/100k) and alarm, which total was 2k(i might have gotten screwed there). If I didnt purchase that they'd give me 6.25% but if i purchased that I got 5.75% financing which was better than my bank, so it felt like a wash cause the end amount after 5yrs is still the same. Please somebody tell me I got an ok deal.
On my financing it was at 7.39% when int rates were higher and my credit was lower, but just refi'd at 6.1% Will be in no hurry to pay off that puppy quickly now.

I just bought an '08 Civic Hybrid w/Navi, Wheel Locks, Pin Stripes, Cargo Net, and 'Protection Package' for $24000. With all the add-ons they wanted $26500 for it. Had it not been end of the month I don't think I could have gone below sticker price. I feel like I got a good deal and am happy with the car.

Re: Did I get ripped off on my 08?
The 'protection package' is simply scotchgarding and a coat of wax And they managed to scratch the rear bumper applying it I took it by the dealership today to have them look at it and they said to bring it back Monday and they'd fix it. I ended up buffing them out myself this afternoon(they weren't deep at all).
I was surprised I was able to talk them down from $26500 to $24000 including all that crap. I did get the extended warranty...they wanted $1495 for 8 yrs/100000 mile bumper to bumper and I talked them down to $1000 and got them to throw in 5/50 tire/wheel replacement and 5/50 roadside assistance/rental reimbursement/trip interruption. Which goes to show what a profit center that side of the business is. And Honda Finance beat my best financing rate by a full point.
So I guess I should say I paid $25000 plus tax/tag/title for an '08 with Navi/Wheel Locks/Pin Stripes/Wax/Scotchgard/Cargo Net/Ext Warranty/Tire Replacement/Roadside Assistance/Rental/Trip Interruption.
Plus I still got in on half of the tax break.
And I'm averaging 40 mpg in 50/50 driving.
Which is 2.5x better than the Cadillac I sold got. And 1.5x better than the Miata I traded in got.
I'm a happy camper!
