He must have not known it's a hybrid, I can't see a huge demand for stolen hybrids. Whereas a regular civic is in high demand, for parts, etc.

That really stinks about your car. As we have all said in previous posts, I am glad you are alright as well...and I hope you get the car back in decent shape.

Things would have turned out a very different way if the same thing happened to me. Mostly because I am a police officer...

Good luck and let us all know the turn-out...

Remeber the articles all said the battery packs would cost $1,000s of dollars to replace. I bet that is what he was after.

I doubt it, because there isn't a high demand for packs. Where as doors, seats, airbags, interior trim, etc.... but engine and selling the car whole isn't high.

Sorry to hear that. If you do get the car back, my advice is to have it detailed before driving it yourself. (the police should tow it to a mechanic for a mechanical inspection... though they may charge you through the nose for the privledge ... you may be able to have them detail it right there).

It's sort of a rebound/echo kick in the guts feeling to drive your recovered car and see a muddy boot print on the dash

Here's another car jacking in Hollyweird last night. This guy wasn't so lucky.

Dan, as others have said, I'm glad you're ok. I hope it all works out for you, either getting the car back in good shape or replaced by insurance.

I've never had that happen but I had my old Honda Civic broken into 4 over the 17 years I owned it! I've also had an apartment broken into. It's a terrible feeling of violation. My nephew had his truck stolen and destroyed by joyriders.

Maybe the cops need to start checking the local pawn shops for HCH battery packs.
