Default Bus vs. 2006 HCHII

Not a good day. I was on my way home, waiting for the light to turn, and the bus (apparently too close and eager) lurched forward and crunched my rear bumper with it's bike rack (see attached PDF of the photos). It was a jolt and I feel a bit stiff. I could drive my car home, trunk lid duct taped down, but could discern a wobble in the ride as I drove. Tomorrow I will deal with the adjustor and hopefully get a loaner. The bus driver was very apologetic and admitted fault even to his supervisor and to a cop who arrived shortly at the scene.

Ouch. Cut that bumper like it was made of paper! Hope you're okay!

Wait until tomorrow to see how you feel, you probably got some whiplash and will feel sore tomorrow, your seat belt probably will leave a bruse too. Anyway, it looks like all the damage was confined to the rear bumper which is an easy fix. The trunk lid looks damage too, but that's easy too. If the frame was not bent at all, then you are all set, otherwise you will have problem down the line.

I got rear-ended by a bus in my old car. It really sucks for the poor people on the bus trying to get to work.

Thank you everyone for your kind support. I felt stiff and sore on Day 2 onward. Fortunately, folks on this bus just transferred to another bus that was close behind the one that struck me. It will be two weeks before I see my car again and I'm driving a tinny, but fuel efficient sub-compact. My story from here on out won't be any different than any other person who gets rear-ended.
