Auto climate control woes...
Folks,
I have a week old HCH-II that I am very happy with, however the auto climate control seems wacko. We have a 2006 Pilot with presumably the same electronics that works like a charm (we set it to 68-72 and forget it).
On the Civic, I am driving around and it's 60 out and it is set to 72 but starts intermittently blowing cold air from the dash vents. Then it stops. Then the car gets too hot, so it switch it down to 68 and it stays to warm??
Out Pilot never does this.
Is my control unit possibly faulty?
does every one else have any problems in full auto mode?
Thanks,
Doberwiler

Based on my experience and perhaps that of several others I would recommend you have your unit looked at by your dealership. That behaviour does not appear normal.

Ive noticed my 07 HCII does it also..about 1,200 miles on her now. Very subtle changes mind you, will be keep an eye on it though and if it gets out of hand wont hesistate to take it in.
I don't use the auto mode since it turns the A/C on (often needlessly). With auto off and just the temperature set, it seems to control the temperature fairly well.
I'm with Jeff here, and usually leave the AUTO mode off in the fall and winter. I just set the temp and try to keep the fan on lower speeds. This lets the Auto-Stop feature work most often (and keep that defrost off when not needed!).
In the VERY hot Texas summers, I'll go back to AUTO, though. Last summer, I did not notice this hot-and-cold issue when I had the AUTO mode on.
It sounds like a problem with your car to me.
