Anyone changing to Shell?

Re: Anyone changing to Shell?
This is quite intriquing. I've only filled at Shell once, but it was my second tank and the car was still breaking in. Since then I have filled at an Albertson's (from what I can tell their gas can come from anywhere), the first tank was great but so was the weather. The next was lower but the a/c had been on more.
When I finish the current Albertson's tank I think I do a few test runs at the local Shell, it's closer to home and only a couple of cents more that the Albertson's.
If I notice a reasonable improvement I'll let you know.

According to the Federal Trade Commission no additive will help your gas milage:
http://www.shellne.com/btrmiles.html
I personally think it is all the same stuff.....

Re: Anyone changing to Shell?
I've been getting gas at the local Kroger and that seems to actually be better for me in terms of my MPG than gas from any of the nearby WaWa locations. I haven't really tried any Exxon or Shell stations though, as they're a bit more out of the way.

Re: Anyone changing to Shell?
I have tried tanks with shell and tanks with no brand name and have yet to see a difference in FE. Bob's analsys would suggest otherwise but I haven't seen it.

Re: Anyone changing to Shell?
I have just changed from using Shell. I live in San Diego, and would fill up at Shell because it was close by where I work downtown. Unfortunately, I drive north on I-15 for my commute, which is hilly...so my gas efficiency suffers. I ended up switching as I noticed that when I filled up with gas from Arco, my mpg rose about 5 mpg with no change in weather or driving habits. I cruise in the carpool lane at 65-68 mph. That was enough for me to switch...
Just my experience...I imagine gas might be of different consistencies all over. Here is San Diego...we just pay the over-priced for no real reason kind. Argh!!!
