Default Age?

Hello again. I was wondering how old you all were. It has always seemed to me that more younger people are into ecology and such, but recently I have seen mainly older men driving Hybrids.

BTW: This poll is not public; the results will be displayed, but other members will not be able to see what you selected.

i think it would have been interesting to also add gender to the mix. not all hybrid drivers are men.

I think younger people are more likely to have less money and be into muscle cars.

Older people have nothing to prove behind the wheel.

Cruising Main Street, a muscle car show came thru this week here in CT. I'd saY 90% of the owners would fit the "grandpa" catagory

They seemed to have much younger women with them. I don't think daughters are that flirty.

After burning thru more gallons of fuel than we wish to think about us old folks need to start driving vehicles that get as many MPG's as possible to balance out our madcap overuse of fuel. When we were younger we were invincible and greedy!

BTW nice trick to make the folks who are 30,40,50 or 60 sneak into the lower age bracket!

Even without many results, that's a nice little Gaussian distribution you've got there. Don't forget the skew for internet users; this isn't an age distribution of hybrid owners, it's an age distribution of wired, computer-literate and self-selecting hybrid owners.

Hybrids are too expensive except for older folks. An average HCH 2 probably cost close to $25000 with TTL;a Prius is probably $28000 with TTL.The Ford Hybrid is $30,000,and an HH is $35,000 easy.
You can buy a kinda sporty Scion for $16000, or a Ford Focus-nice sporty car for $13000 or so.
I'm 56-bought a Prius so I wouldn't be angry everytime I filled up.I also have a 11 year old Suburban as a second car for evacuations(3 adults,2 big dogs,4 cats, lotta stuff),and to do pickup type Home Depot duty, and as the second car.Suburbans-used ones-are really cheap-$3000-and very efficient way to haul lots of stuff-much more versatile than a beat up old pickup.
Charlie.
PS-Laurie, my mistake.I left out except-for older folks who have more $$ than younger folks.Sorry.I'm older-56-

where do you draw the line as to what constitutes "older"? i am 60 and bought my HCH 2 years ago. seems to me us "older" drivers finally have more sense and are using it.
