my friend is trying to get my opinion on a very cheap HCH with 200k miles. I'm telling him that "anything cheap could be expensive especially hybrid and things european branded".. trying to ask the buyer why he's ditching the car personally, he mentioned over the phone that battery works and everything is fine he just wants something new...


any opinions and things to look out for? I have the hunch the battery is showing symptoms of dying..

 

Assume the car will require another $2000 in repairs/maintenance in the next 90 days. Assess the value of the purchase in that context.

IMHO, look for a different car.

 

we just decided on getting the bmw e39, better looking than the horrid blue cloth interior. will end up spending the same money for fixing..
