Turned the desk fan off.

Yes sir the IPU lid is secure.

I just realized my voltmeter came with a thermocouple. I paused charging for about 30 mins and put the thermocouple in by the battery switch, probably not ideal but something

Read about 20 C / 68 F with the lid re bolted in and grid charging again.

12v Battery stayed at 100 percent 5 hours in so looks like im good on that front.

I don't know if my previous post was posted? Not showing up on mobile chrome but does on desktop. But my ipu lid was secured.

179.2 v 7:21 pm Tuesday September 15th

184.1V 7:40pm Tuesday September 15th

186.8V 3:34pm Wednesday September 16th

189.7V 4:25pm

188.6V 6:00pm

Sitting at 24 C / 75 F inside the case.

What's up with the weird fluctuation? Normal?

Should i keep the key in the ignition while discharging?

And I can do the 2 minute disconnect + charge x3 after discharge before grid charging to potentially speed it up right?

Spark plugs just arrived. There's probably nothing wrong with replacing the spark plugs while keys in ignition but I don't think im going to risk it.

Small fluctuations like that aren't uncommon. It's a sign that you're hitting full charge on multiple cells.

Ignition on not necessary for discharging.

4 hour grid charge must occur immediately after discharge. Do not attempt to start car. After 4 hours, you can do the 3X 12V reset to speed it up.

I dun fugged up.

Voltage was sitting at 140 something under load. I came back 1.5 hours later and it was 14V.

2 72W 120v light bulbs in series.

Plugging grid charger in had it at 147V and climbing.

How do I remedy this?

Pretend it didn't happen,
Charge an extra 30 minutes before starting.
Conduct 3X 12V resets/charges
Conduct 8-12 hr topping charge.

I would have omitted the final topping charge.

The rapid drop is potentially a good sign that the discharge was unnecessary. Had there been a lot of recoverable capacity at the lower voltages, it would have taken longer at 36W (2 72W in series are 36W).

For future, when you detect a decrease in performance, conduct 3X 12V reset/charges and overnight charge. It's likely all you need. When that stops getting results, do the single discharge exercise.

Great thank you so much for the reassurance! And the knowledge!

Grid charged for 5.5 hours and and doing the 3x 12v reset/charge now. Ill stop and then begin the grid charge before going to bed.

There are times that the battery may never register full after three charges. If that's the case, with the car in Park, rev the engine to > 2500rpm (or whatever rpm the charge bar shows) and hold it there until the SoC gauge reads full and the car won't charge while revving.
