Default squealing when slight turn

My issue isn't necessarily limited to hybrids. But anyway...

I have a squeak/squeal emanating from the driver side wheel. Here are the details:

It's not loud, but not exactly faint either.
It happens when driving at low speeds (<45 mph)
It is in time with tire rotation
It happens when turning the wheel very slightly off center
It goes away upon further turning of wheel.
pushing and releasing gas pedal seems to make it stop temporarily.

I thought it was the brakes, but why doesn't it squeal when the turning is sharper? Also, why would pushing gas pedal make a difference?

Anyone help me out?

Default Re: squealing when slight turn

could be your ball joints....at least that's the answer I got...try pushing down on the hood of the car above the tires and if you hear a clanking sound then that's probably it.
