EGR valve recall???
About a year ago I got a recall notice that mentioned the EGR valve, but it was for a software upgrade. They'd fixed a bug in the code that was causing a "lean burn" or something to that effect. The extent of my engine knowledge is that I know how to change my own oil, so I just smiled and nodded.
I went and got the software upgrade for free, and my MPG went down after that for a while before coming back up.

I haven't heard of the recall. If it is an emissions recall wouldn't they be required to send letters out like they did for the computer update?
I also went through an EGR. Only cost me $120 since I did it over a friends house. If anyone is interested it is a realy easy proceedure to replace. Just two bolts and it is pretty easy to get to. I forget the torque of the bolts though.

Isn't this an ongoing thread?
I searched and found this one:

thanks!
The easiest way is to get the part (It should come with a gasket). Then look for something that looks like it on the manifold in front of the engine to the left looking at the engine from the front of the car.
Again, I forget the torque of the bolts so you will have to look it up elsewhere or post a thread here asking someone to look it up in one of their manuals.
