Anyone replaced an O2 Sensor to correct a P0134 error code?
I had a check engine light on and it read P0134 (O2 sensor). I checked on the prices. The OEM sensor was $168 which I felt was rediculously high. I replaced it with an aftermarket sensor. I had to cut the connector off the OEM sensor and splice it to the wires on the new sensor. I had the light reset but it continues to come back on and stay on. The MPG improved so I felt the sensor corrected the issue but the light stays on. The dealer said the aftermarket sensor may not cause the light to go off because the sensitivity is so high that it must be replaced with the OEM sensor. Is that true or is the dealer simply saying that in order to sell the expensive OEM sensor?

I had the same issue but I got my sensor at autozone and the connector was a perfect match. I replaced it on my lunch break at work in 15 mins with and the code was cleared, no more CE light.

Danboy,
I went ahead and bit the bullet on the Autozone sensor (Bosch) for $156.99. I hated spending that much on an O2 sensor but when I swapped it out and reset the error code, the MIL indicator did not reappear. Oddly enough, a week later it did reappear however it was a different error code. Two days later, it went off and hasn't reappeared since. Go figure! Thanks.
