Anyone else at 100k?

Re: Anyone else at 100k?
Have the dealer look at it to make sure it isn't the cat. If it is the cat then try to get them to fix it for free or close to free because there was a recall that changed the ecu to prevent cats from being damaged so it could have been damaged before the recal work was performed.

Re: Anyone else at 100k?
My car just hit 120k. Only a few things have gone wrong:
-- The A-pillar rattles.
-- Some of the control ***** and buttons no longer illuminate.
-- The remote door opener (keychain dongle) fell apart.
-- The industrial carpet under the gas pedal is worn down to the frame.
-- The rear window defogger now has only intermittent function.
-- While the highway FE is still 47, the city FE is down in the 40-42 range.
-- There's a slight lag when launching from Park to Drive.
Overall, these developments seem perfectly acceptable given the car's age and use.This is the first car I've ever owned that passed the six-digit mark with flying colors!

Re: Anyone else at 100k?
Just over 125,000 miles on my 2003 HCH Manual Trans.
Just had to do the front breaks, I suspect for the first time – though I am not the first owner. Will have to replace the struts before the winter comes. Had the valves adjusted as per 120,000 mile service recommendations (saw significant increase in mileage after – though evidence is just circumstantial at this point). Everything else on car is like new. So far the Gamble is paying off!

Re: Anyone else at 100k?
I have a manual & live in mountains....have a 2003 HCH I
I'm at 92.5K and have done the following:
* all services on severe schedule
* replaced hybrid battery ~67K
* replaced front brake pads 92.5K
* need to replace struts (once parts come in)
* usual replacement tires
* replaced 12V battery twice now.
* blown fuse that made all the chimes/interior stuff stop working.
* couple of windshields (NM is bad for windshields)
The interior is pretty good, but I do notice the heat works even if the fan is off. Not sure if this is normal behavior. It doesn't blow much but you can feel the heat if the temperature dial is turned up, or the cool air in the winter if it's down.
Overall I've been happy with my car except the underpowered-ness is rather tiresome sometimes. You just can't go the speed limit in this car up a long grade, which is very common here. The mileage is nice, which I remind myself of whenever I think I should have bought a Subaru instead.
I do also get annoyed with the fact that almost everything is special for the Hybrid, and has to be done at the dealer. But overall it has been a good little car.
