Tax credits on Toyota have expired. Tax credits for Honda hybrids are about to expire on Jan 1, 2009.

I laid out the tax credit expiration here (I'm not a tax expert!). But Toyota and Honda passed the 60,000 mark a while ago, setting in a gradual phase out period. Anyone buying a Toyota hybrid Oct 1, 2007 or after cannot qualify.

Toyota exceeded their 60,000 limit. There are no tax credits for Toyota vehicles purchased after Oct.1, 2007.

There are no tax credits for Honda vehicles purchased after Jan.1, 2009.

Lightbulb Re: Tax Credits on a new Hybrid

Now if anybody wants to buy a Natural Gas vehicle there is a huge tax credit for that. $4000.00! (That ought to about pay for Phil, the NVG at home filling device)

From fueleconomy.gov:
Qualifying alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) purchased or placed into service between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2010 may be eligible for a federal income tax credit of up to $4,000.

Currently there is one vehicle certified for the program the 2005-2008 Honda Civic GX. Honda's site says that the 2009 is now certified as well.

Default Attention Oregon Residents!

With all the current federal and state tax incentives, no sales tax, low financing options and large rebates currently available, there is no reason not to go green in Oregon!

Here's the best overall deal I found in Portland recently for a 2009 Nissan Altima hybrid:

Federal tax credit: $2,350
State tax credit: $1,500
Nissan rebate: $3,500
Nissan 0% financing

Yes, incentives worth well over $7K plus no interest financing, which places the Altima hybrid price below the standard Altima model.

YES!

The Ford tax credits are $1,700 on the FFH and MMilanH, and $1,500 for the FEH and MMarinerH. These credits are good for 2009 (and earlier, if new) and 2010 models purchased or ordered before Sept. 30, 2009.

Remember that ordering constitutes a commitment to purchase for IRS credit qualification. Many "tax advisors" don't understand that yet. The 8910 form is confusing.
