Basically you have to buy something other than a Honda or Toyota to get the tax credit (Honda gets a partial) correct?
You are correct. Toyota has completely phased out. Honda still has some left.

From the IRS site:

Here are the credit amounts for Jan. 1, 2008, through June 30, 2008:

  • Honda Civic Hybrid CVT, Model Year 2007 —$1,050
  • Honda Civic Hybrid CVT, Model Year 2008 — $1,050
Here are the credit amounts for July 1, 2008 – Dec. 31, 2008:
  • Honda Accord Hybrid AT, Model Year 2007 — $325
  • Honda Accord Hybrid Navi AT, Model Year 2007 — $325
  • Honda Civic Hybrid CVT, Model Year 2007 —$525
  • Honda Civic Hybrid CVT, Model Year 2008 — $525

Let me first apologize if this question has recently been answered -- I just purchased a 2009 Camry Hybrid last week and am new to this forum.

Is there any advance information regarding the 2008 tax year credit for a 2009 Camry Hybrid? Is a credit expected and, if so, how much? Thank you! Ken.

The IRS has released the form 8910 Alternative Motor Vehicle Credit.
Also listed are the maximum credits for the 2008 models.

Unfortunately the Toyotas are all no longer receiving tax credits (FEDERAL), check with your state about an Alternative Fuel Vehicle Tax Credit, Oklahoma has one, I'd bet other stses do too.

I see that the 05-07 FEH shows credits of 2600 & 1950 and the 08 shows 3000 & 2200. We just ordered an 09 and are expecting delivery sometime between September and November according to the dealership. Anyone know how many FEH's were sold and when the credit amounts will start to drop? Am I correct in assuming that if 60,000 is reached say August 1st that if our vehicle arrives in September we will get the full credit but 1500 if it comes in on October 1st or later?

Thanks in advance for your help.
