I called to see where my cheque was, they said they got a few more applications then they thought they would.

The representative said that they got over 60,000 applications!

Wow.

Wow.
I just received my $2000 cheque yesterday.

It took them a little over a month to process the application. Half way through the process they did send a written acknowledgment receipt of the application, but no reference of a fulfillment date.

Glad the 6 month waiting game is over for me. Funny thing is that when they collect they expect it right away with the interest penalty hanging over people's head. Some things never change.

Cheers;

Hey Matt - was that a total of six months to get your rebate? I have a 2008 FEH on order and I'm hoping that I can get my VIN in advance of delivery. I'm thinking that I might be able to send in the application and have the rebate arrive near(er) the time when the truck shows up. What do you think the chances are - the FEH probably won't arrive till April.

I don't think you can do that.

When you apply for the federal rebate you need to provide the actual bill of purchase and the title of ownership and registration.

The listing of eligible model year 2008 vehicles is now up. See the link at the top of this thread.

I don't think he was saying that he waited 6 months after he applied - I think he was referring to the length of time it took the government to make the application form available after announcing the program.

I filed my EcoAuto rebate in the last week of October and received my cheque mid-January, or 12 weeks if you're counting. While I was at it, I filed for my rebate from Ontario, at it took the exact same amount of time to process. By sending the letters registered, I knew that the offices had received them, so I didn't bother to nag them over the phone.

That's great! The ecoAUTO Program Guidelines are quite clear. From the background down to the contact information. It is so organized.
