Default Can I claim the credit on Saturn Vue Pep Hybrid?

I just bought a 2008 Saturn Vue Greenline with 8000 miles. It was a used vehicle on the dealer's lot, but after some research I was told that a GM executive drove the car for five months, also known as a pep car here in Detroit. Anyway I'm wondering since I'm the first retail owner of the car do you think I can get away with claiming the tax credit, which I believe is $1500 right now. Any advice would be greatly appriecated.

Thanks.

I think the car has to be FIRST-TITLED in your name. That's who should get the credit. So if it has never been titled, then you may be OK. -- Just my opinion.

I think it's whoever claims it, 1st or 2nd buyer doesn't matter (or 3rd, etc.). But it has to be a qualified vehicle. Not sure about the Saturn, which may be a mild-hybrid.

YES! If the vehicle was never titled, you are entitled to the tax credit if it exists. This was true for my very low mileage 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid in June 2007 when I purchased the vehicle.

the tax credit just goes the the person that is first titled. if it has already been titled and you are not the first...no tax credit.
