What Mileage are you really getting?
Honestly, I don't hink those numbers mean anything, or maybe it has to be an ideal situation to get those numbers, such as flat streets, and driving very carefully(hypermilling) staying in V4/autostop mode as much as possible.
My 2010 Tahoe 4WD is rated 21/22 I hardly get over 16/17 MPG in combination both city and highway. if I drive it only in city, I would average 14 MPG if I am lucky. as for highway driving at 65-70 MPH I managed to get an average 21 MPG but I was hypermilling for sure with my eye on inst economy gauge keeping it on V4 as much as possible.
unfortuneatly, driving any car as carefully as a hybrid, would bring your MPG up for sure.
Don't get me wrong I love my Tahoe, but there is no way to get the 21/22 numbers in my hilly city, with lots of short trips.
just my 2 cents

Actually I was wondering if the '11 hybrids have some kind of new software that allow then to get higher EPA milage. The '08 and 09 still show 20/20 city/hwy. Personally right now my computer shows my average MPG for the past 3 weeks of 20 .0 mpg. This include a trip from DC to the Eastern Shore, then to NYC and back home with luggage and 5 pass, to Hearsheypark with 8 pass, and rest of DC city driving in roush hours. I have a heavy right foot, I used to own a Taurus SHO, an 850 Turbo, a Mustang Cobra lightly modified, a A6 2.7T 6 sp with a chip, Jag S type R stock (14.7 mpg avg) and I almost bought a Saab 9 7X Aero with the Corvette engine instead of the hybrid, I am a little better now but I will not say that I try that hard to save gas. Also a couple of round trips to NYC before, I use a manual calculator to figure out my MPG and I got 22.8mpg with 7 pass and cargo. On Memorial Day I took my son to Chapel Hill to see the school. I went from DC back and foward two times in 4 days. I managed to sqeeze 517 miles on 1 tank of gas. That is my personal record. I get my best milages when the outside temperature is in between 50's and 80's.
Guss,
I think your battery pack is broken. I mean you have done everything right, but your mileage is wrong. Are you using the right units?
Anyway, if you are calculating this with fill-ups and miles-driven and it matches the trip computer, then something is wrong. You are not getting the electric boost at that MPG level, you are only seeing the aerodynamic improvements for the most part.
Do a test:
Autostart it and let it run for ten minutes until it shuts off (maybe at night to keep the a/c load down). Do it again for another cycle. Then take it out for a drive. Preferably have it setup so you can get to a flat road by not going uphill.
From a stop, can you get to 25mph pretty easily without the engine starting?
Can you drive for a mile at 25mph without the engine starting?
Can you go to a stop and restart to 25mph again without an engine start?
If not, you should be able to get close to this or something is wrong.

Fj,
Thanks for your reply.
I have no problem driving in autostop ev mode on flat roads up to 30 mph.
I live In a very hilly city, I can hardly find a flat road where I can keep on driving on ev mode. Most of the time the engine kicks in each time I start moving due to road inclination.
One I am on flat or downhill I am usually running on either autostop mode up to 30mph or on v4 with inst Econ gauge at 0 or99 mpg.
Adding to that the distance where I live are very short. Usually 5-10 mins drives. Which doesn't really help at all.
I checked with the dealer and all is running smooth with no errors at all when the hooked it up to computer.
If you still think there is an issue after taking into consideration the above, pls do let me know, so I can do further tests.
One last thing is the fuel in this country is not the best quality at all.
Thanks again for your feedback,
Looking forward to hearing from you
Take care

New Member here, just signed up for this forum -- great threads on here. FOM Jul. 2010 purchased as new a left over 2009 with only 123 miles on the clock. Bad BAD mileage right now, but shoot, most of the hours on the clock have been sitting in the driveway idling learning all the buttons and programing the thing. 203 miles on it at this posting with lots of 99mpg instant when driving/14.3 average --- luv the truck and am very happy w/ it. Will post more mileage data as I get more actual driving time.
Fj,
To add to my email, I get 340-370 Miles with each full tank.
I do use L/100 KM here and not MPG, but I am doign the conversion to MPG.
And The computer matches the actual MPG when caclulating it manually using actual fill ups, and miles driven.
just to clarify
Thanks

overall mileage so far w/ 4083 miles on the Odometer is showing 18.5 mpg total. Have yet to reset the trip computer but to divide it out; fuel used over the 3736.4 mile trip I just took, it comes out to 19.08 mpg overall for the trip. Mind you most of this was going 75-78 mph through Nebraska, Colorado and Arizona and Utah. Close enough to the 24mpg I get with my northstars in the other cars, so I guess I am happy.
the loaner escalade that the dealer usually gives me gets 11.9 mpg city(regular escalade) while the ESV usually gets 9-10 mpg. hybrid is really the way to go. with the 6.2L V8 of the NA ones, the acceleration is abrupt unlike the hybrid and the hybrid's electric brakes can be easily modulated unlike those previous complaints.
