I forgot to mention that the leather cleaner and protector from Zaino works great.

Man, this truck is big and takes forever just to wash...I can't even imagine washing twice and waxing 3 times...I would be dead. I have never waxed but see the merit in it. I am however, concerned that living in the country would take its toll on my leading edges...to many bugs! What would your thoughts be on that?

I spray the front-end with spray starch (like you use to iron your shirts) after washing it and waxing it. Well, only when I'm leaving San Diego and going somewhere that has flying insects. Anyway, after you drive, just hose off the front end and the bugs fall off with the starch. The starch is pretty much clear, so you don't really see it.

Really?! And the starch won't hurt the clear coat or the grill area? And it just washes off? What made you try starch for a bug repellant for cars? I swear, I learn something new everyday. I had considered the 3M mask over the front end but you would not believe what that costs. I figured with the bugs, I would be replacing it every year and that is prohibitive.

I have a product that will remove the dried on caked on bugs that is Awesome...yes, it is called Awesome but there are several different products manufactured called that and this is LA's Totally Awesome. Guys with big cruisers (boats) that stay in a wet slip have issues with spider crap. The spiders build webs and crap all over and it leaves black stains that are almost impossible to remove. Spray awesome on and let it set a couple of minutes and it almost just wipes off. I bought it to remove this horrible black tobacco juice type stuff that grasshoppers leave on my windows, gutters, painted trim and brick/mortar. You can scrub it off of everything but paint...scrubbing that takes the paint off! That product works better than good.

Sorry to write a book but wanted to repay the good tip with another good tip. Oh, you can get the Awesome at Dollar General.

I learned the starch trick when I took my 'vette to the Corvette Nationals back in the 1980s...
