I understand adding features on newer models to give people a reason to buy new instead of used, but in this case, it would be really helpful to GM to release those 2010 features (such as Autostop in reverse) to the 2008 and 2009 vehicles via firmware update.
I think the existing trucks represent a small amount of vehicles and are mostly owned by tech-savvy and early adopters. These are the market leaders that every company values, so getting the best firmware into our hardware is the best way to keep the grassroots support going for GM's hybrid technology. Not a week goes by where someone doesn't strike up a conversation with me about how I "like that hybrid" or "do you really get good mileage from that thing?"

 

I agree, the new features should easily be added to older models by upgrading software.
I wonder if there is a new hardware added for those features in 2010 model, although I doubt it.

 

I also agree and would like to have the 2010 upgrades they are not a lot and would increase customer loalty

 

Just wanted to add,my 08 Yukon will auto stop with ac on after a remote start.

 

Alex thanks i will try and monitor this on my 2009 Tahoe Hybrid.

 

I did notice the other day with my 2009 Tahoe Hybrid that when I used the remote start before the 10mins were up the vehicle went into the Auto-Stop mode.
