I have 112k on my 2010 tahoe hybrid and am ready to pay for transmission service. The dealer recommends s flush but I'm used to good old fluid and filter changes. The manual even says fluids and filter. What have you all did? I read about flushes being bad because they don't clean filter and run trash through trans.

 

I think they did filter and tranny fluid fill in mine.

 

Thanks Evois!! They want $250 for fluid and filter change and $190 for flush. If they won't do fluid and filter change I'm finding another dealer

 

The fluids are pretty expensive. Look for another dealer.

 

So now this is getting ridiculous. The dealer claims that there are two filters in the trans and that they have to get a gasket for the auxiliary pump and the parts are $48 for filters and $12 for auxiliary pump gasket and the labor is $340 with parts and all it'll be $500😡 Wow!! I wish I could do this myself

 

Raising the vehicle on a hoist, removing the pan, removing and replacing the two filters is no way more than two hours labor.


They do NOT even need to dissable high voltage for this.

 

That's what I said. I found another dealer that quoted me at $290 so I'm going with them. I told them I want my old filters to make sure they don't pull one one me and I'm getting under there checking when I get it back

 

This is true, two filters several gaskets(Pan & auxiliary pump) and 5.05 quarts of fluid. My dealer charged me $194.20

 

I found another dealer that did it for a total of $315 parts, labor, and taxes.

 

It's the vehicle's lifeline why be cheap?
