Default RPM rate shooting up

My GMC Yukon Hybrid which has 120,000 miles on it has recently started acting a little differently. The RPM dial is usually between 1 and 1.5 but when I am standing at a light or just stationary it has been going up to 2 RPM. Is that unusual for a stationary vehicle? It is really hot here now. Could the heat be a reason?

It depends. If it is in autostop it should be 0.

It was not in autostop. In that case, is that likely to happen?
