Jason

I have the same warranty as you .. 3 years and 60Km .. Do you have a dealer in Jordan who can service your truck?

any dealer that sells one has to have a trained specialist in the service department to work with the hybrids. I don't know if that rule applies to foreign dealers but I would suspect that it does.

Yes Jet,

That's what the dealer told me, but still too early for me to judge.

Unfortunately there is NO Hybrid dealer here in Athens.

The dealer who used to sell Tahoes stopped with the 06/07 model year and does not look after 08 year trucks hybrid or not.

I may have to return to the UK with the truck to get it fully sorted.

Latest news was it did its thing again of not starting. I was a distance from home, and on the way back it decided to completely shut down. I got warning notices and the power steering stopped.

I waited about 5 minutes and things came back to life again, but the check engine light is back on.

I am off to the AC Delco dealer for a new battery in the morning. I will keep you posted on how i get on.

As comparing here to driving in Jordan. I guess it is pretty good. I took it up to the North of Greece at Easter on a long run and it was a dream.

We went on the tracks into the mountains and only got stopped by snow when the front airdam began to work as a poor version of a snow plough.

With the road damp underneath the snow it was finding it difficult to get traction with wet leaves etc. If it had either been a bit colder or a bit dryer i guess we could have made it to our destination. It was fun anyway.

I'd done a similar trip in my Navigator last year and it really was a voyage of discovery to see how good they were at 'green laning'

All the best

Sounds like you need the computer update and the battery replaced. Both are warranty items and should not be an issue for even the most simpleton of techs. The trick is after the battery is replaced is there is a very complex procedure for ensuring the computers all reboot properly. This does not seem to be an issue for jump starts, just removing power completely.

I haven't looked, but I bet the air dam is held on by some push pins. These hold well and come out easy by pulling the center pin.

I would not call it easy, but you could remove the air dam for winter or off-road driving, but you sacrifice highway gas mileage.

What year is your Tahoe?

Default this sounds like my problem...

twice my car just stopped. it was diagnosed as a faulty wiring harness in the transmission and it was repaired with a new harness and I haven't had the problem since. My dealer contacted GM and they had a TSB about some early production hybrids with this problem. mine is a jan 08 build. I have had no problems since this was done

Guess what ... mine is a January 08 build just like Jet!

Fjungman ... do you know where i can find out the proceedure for the computer reboots. I will either have to have the truck recovered from Athens to London .. or do the job myself.

I really wasn't expecting snow in April .. as all the locals told me it was very late for snow to be at that altitude .. and it was raining!!! So no desire to get out and take the air dam off even though my wife really really wanted to visit a lake in the mountains.

All the best
