Since it takes me forever to remember how to post pictures, I'm going to send you the link to TRW page that shows and explains the operation of the unit.

Thank you Hillbilly for the validation. I wasn't going to crawl under my vehicle to get the shot. Trust me Evois, I did a LOT of researching when I began to have the problem and even more so when it finally failed for good on May 14. Evois, I'm sure the GM dealership wanted my vehicle fixed and out of there ASAP so I fail to see your point. I'm not the most understanding customer. I work in corporate aviation and most EVERYTHING we fix is by the next day. Parts....Not just Fedex overnight, Fedex Early AM even airline counter to counter for same day delivery from the other side of the country. So I had a very difficult time understanding why I had to wait for over two months. .... Anyhow on a better note... It came back to me last Thursday afternoon and has been doing great ever since. I'm happy to have it back. However I am seriously debating getting out from it and going with a conventional Yukon or Tahoe to avoid the months of waiting for what should have been a relatively standard part.

I'm not arguing that it is a hybrid specific part. if it is then it would be a future problem for current owners for something like this to fail. did it have a specific part number, like a GM part number?
i'm glad that it fixed your problem. Got a chance to drive and possibly pick up a new 2015 escalade premium in my local dealer but after the test drive, I noticed the loud exhaust of the new engine and worried I'll miss the quietness and the efficiency of my hybrid even at 176k trouble free miles already. I'll wait for GM to make one on the new body style.
