Default Door Locks

Anyone else having issues? Couldn't unlock the rear doors. Had to manually pull up on the locks.

Driver door is starting to have problems opening up from the inside handle.

Looks like I will have to take it in for the 3rd time.

Known issue. Once mine were replaced, they have been fine since. Seems I had to get each of the originals fixed, all right near new. They have probably changed vendors or made design improvements to the lock motor.

I had the left rear lock replaced about 6 months ago. About a month ago, my drivers door didn't lock, but only happened once. I'll wait till it happens a few more times before I bring it in.

can you show pics that said it was made in china? cause actuators break, just like my honda pilot. the only actuator that is still working is in my 1988 mitsubishi galant sigma. not once did I replace it.

yeah but its really hard to see. its etched into the motor casing.

Actuators do break, especially these. I think the mechanism is decent (very complicated, but should last). Once we replace the electric motors with decent units, these actuators will probably never fail again.

Incidentally, the door locks in my 2001 Ford Escape with 165K miles have never broke on any of the 4 doors. It did on the trunk lock though, but not until the truck had 150K miles on it.
