Default Re: Battery - Test, Recondition, Replace

You are right I want to keep it long term and the original battery has 156K so I'm going to the dealer for the new one. Why compromise on something that is the life line of the truck? Thanks for the advice. My local dealer is throwing in a loaner car at no charge and I didn't even ask for one.

Every pack I build is the best I possibly can. I have built in the vicinity of 100 packs. I offer a longer warranty than anyone in my area. I have a very low warranty rate, and all my warranties are attributable to process deficiencies that have been corrected for over a year. I don't have a single warranty that hasn't already been "fixed" by correcting the cause. 40% of my warranties were voluntary replacements BEFORE the customer had an issue because I was able to determine that an issue on one would be an issue on others.

The point?

I can promise you that nothing *I* can do is worth $2900 to you. I can promise you that nothing *I* can provide gives you comparable value to a new pack at $3800. Period.

At $2,900, you should HOPE you are getting a low-mileage salvage pack that was recently pulled from a wreck and that NO ONE has ever cracked it open and screwed it up.

If your goal is long term ownership, the best VALUE is ALWAYS a new pack.

The likelihood of going 100K miles with a new battery is VERY high.

The likelihood of going 100K miles with a "reconditioned" battery is zero. You WILL have to deal with it again - likely inside of 3 years unless of course it's a low mileage (like 20K) salvage battery.

Good luck,

Steve
