Hi, I've been shopping for a Silverado / Sierra hybrid. Most of the good ones I've seen don't have the navigation. I don't mind the navigation too much but I'd really like to have the hybrid display that shows battery level, charging, etc. I would also love to have the backup cam as it is invaluable for hooking up trailers.

Is it possible to add the nav system to a non-hybrid model? If so, is there a specific unit I'd need to buy or is it buried in all the GM nav units?

I would buy a Garmin and an aftermarket back-up-cam

 

I would agree not sure you can make it work. The good news is aftermarket back-up cam kits are pretty inexpensive! And it doesn't get much better than the navigation through google maps on your phone.
