I just got an engine swap done on the Tahoe I just bought used. The truck is now running fine but its giving the P0AC4 code. I have scoured these forums and can't find anything to really make sense..I have tried taking it to the dealer and they don't even want to touch the truck because of the engine swap. From reading forums It seems :

1. That the computer or something just needs to be reset?
2.. There should be another code coupled with this one?
3. Something is blocking the Hybrid battery (oversized mats, blankets, etc. in 2nd row seat.

If anyone can clearly steer me in the right direction that would be great. I have put so much money into this car and it just seems one thing after another.

Please re-confirm the code. How did you obtain it?

Take it to a different dealer and don't tell them about the swap.

 

I got it from the mechanic who performed the swap and also took it to autozone myself to re-affirm. Someone else told me take it to another dealer. Ill do that tomorrow. Thanks!

 

Just curious if you've transposed digits, i.e., P0A4C or P0AC4, etc.

EDIT: Ah... I see that's the case. Not the P04AC you posted, but P0AC4.

P0AC4 is from engine computer...


It is telling you that the Hybrid computer wants the Check Engine Light on.

In a hybrid the Engine computer is NOT the main computer anymore.


So now you need someone who can either read the Freeze Frames or can talk to the Hybrid, or both

 

Thanks everyone, it seems my issue wasn't a difficult one at all, was just a bad spark plug on the replacement engine I bought that was triggering all the codes. Seems that I have dodged a bullet with this one...after first dealership turned me away it had me thinking something drastic was ahead, luckily the other dealer I went to fixed it right away, thanks Keith.
