Spacers are usually discouraged for a couple of reasons ... adding an additional part between the wheel and the hub is adding something that the manufacturer did not account for. For example in an awd vehicle, anything beyond a certain % difference between the rotation of the front and rear drives will mess with the transaxle differential, trigger stabilitrak cel, and light up the dash like a xmas tree. Furthermore most spacers are of poor quality and can fail in these large trucks, and their fastening mechanisms don't always have good integrity. Usually the same effect can be achieved by simply having different offsets between the front and rear wheels without adding an additional part at a critical spot on the vehicle.

However, a 5/8 slide in quality aluminum billet spacer is really too small to be of concern in the above regards even in an awd vehicle, and much less so on a 4wd. I ran mine on the HyHoe for 6 months with my oem 22s without issues and you wouldn't know it was there unless someone told you.

And yeah, any rim up to 22" is going to tuck a little in the rear relative to the front ... the quarter panel just flares out slightly more in the rear. When I had 24s on her with 295/35/24 tires the rear was flush and the front went slightly beyond the fender edge.

HyHoe
Back in Jan of this year, in an earlier post, you stated that you hadn't sold your retrofit kit for your 09 Hybrid. And I haven't seen you mention that you sold it. Is it still available?

Never mind. I found the post in the TahoeYukon forum where you sold it. Damhik!!

Hi CT,

Yeah sorry I sold it a while back ... didn't even get to list it for sale cause so many folks contacted me privately, so I sold it to the first person in line.

However, there are a couple of places that one can buy an off the shelf retro ready to install. One place is http://blackflamecustoms.com/product...eadlights-p-94 and also a fellow member on tahoeyukonforum just started building and selling similar setups: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=38270

Hope that helps a little.

Okay so I'm not going to do a thread on my Denali mods ... it seems somewhat out of place in this forum as it is pretty much the least fuel efficient vehicle in the US.

But in couple of weeks I'm about to do a new headlight retrofit on it, one that could be done on Yukon hybrids, and since my last retro provided a lot of interest, I'll just post some info here if anyone cares to read it.

So this is the plan:

Main Housings:

- RX-350 Bi-Xenon projectors
- RX-350 oem lenses custom polished clear
- Gatling shrouds
- DL-50 'fatboy' bulbs
- Al Bosch Ballasts potted and custom boosted to 55W max - 50W constant, with custom monster heatsinks
- Custom harness

- 3157 amber led bulb park/ts
- 194 amber led bulb

Existing Fogs:

- Converted to DRL with high power 5202 5000K led bulb

New fogs in tow hook gaps:

- Hella Micro DE HID Xenon projectors
- Hella D2S 4300K bulbs
- Hella 35W Ballasts
- Hella harness

This is what all that looks like before the install:

I'll post pics when it's all installed.

Cheers!

Of course ... conversely, if your present employer wants to know how to tastefully upgrade these vehicles, I am available for the consulting and stuff.

Oh and speaking of something that is inexcusable that it's not standard on a $65K truck (F150s have hids as an option for goodness sake), here are the output pics of the above mentioned retrofit:

My apologies that almost all the pics are gone from this thread ... stupid MobileMe purged their server and everything went bye bye.

It'll take me forever to re-upload everything and in re-embed in every relevant post, so if anyone needs any specific pic, just let me know and I'll repost it.

Here are a couple of pics of the finished product before I sold her:
