I just purchased an 08 Hyhoe with 114,000! Couldn't pass it up at 17,900.I checked the service records and it had a drive motor replaced at 105k thought I would share because I've not heard of this happening. Also there is a higher pitched whine at highway speeds anyone have thoughts on what it could be

 

Can you make the whine come and go with slight gas pedal adjustments? Like on an up-hill?

 

No it is a steady whine so far I've only driven it twice.

 

same here. I just bought a 2008 Tahoe hybrid 10700 miles on it . dealer told me today i need a new transmission . he told me the code he got was a P1B03 when he scanned it . i thought this was odd for a transmission because the truck drives fine on the road . The only problem i do have is it will whine and stall when i take off from a stop sign .

 

Update !!!! Went to a hybrid shop south of Atlanta ga . Found out the drive motor clutch went out .not the transmissan..thank God .. Cost with labor $1350.00
My hybrid battery was in perfect shape .they did a stress test on the battery. Hoffman tire pro thank you

 

Any chance you have the name of that hybrid shop south of Atlanta?

 

I Googled the name Hoffman tire pro and it came up a shop in North GA. I'd call first thou, places like that have a good turn over of techs, the guys there when this thread was started might be long gone. along with them the knowledge.
