Hi all,
I feel encouraged today after driving just over 100 miles of mixed driving.
Monday - Thursday was largely inner-city - top speed, I think, was 36 mph. Average about 23 mph between buses and stoplights. Top mpg reached was 32 mpg.
I was a tad despondent until I managed to get out on the expressway today - Friday- top speed reached - 66 mph (due to traffic), also very variable, top mpg reached 42 mpg.
The car seems to like 65mph on average !
I'm still trying to learn how NOT to stomp on the gas when I start the car . My old car need foot flat to kick in.
I'll have to go and read the techniques in more detail, now I have a couple of days of experience
Also, I'll have to give instruction to Valet parkers - although I think I sold the guy who parked my car this morning on a Hybrid !!
Funny how attention gets riveted on the mpg indicator !!! (it is behaving normally, unlike some folks who had the trip meter doing wierd things at 63 miles)
More as my learning curve progresses - I'm afraid my gas bill isn't going down any time soon though - I'm having too much fun driving.
