I couldn't agree more with the conclusion that we need more refining capacity. Anytime there is a seasonal switch over, or a scheduled down time, or an explosion we usually see our gas prices jump. However, we do not see huge changes in fuel prices when there are adjustments in the quantity of imported oil. If our cars ran on crude (which would be pretty impossible) then the quantity of refineries isn't at issue, however all of the products we put in our cars, from gas/diesel, to lubricants all require at least some refining.

I can't say it matters much to me where they place the proposed new refineries, just that we get new refineries soon.
