Thumbs down VSS/Vehicle Speed Sensor wire Ford Escape Hybrid 2009 (Snyc) Where she be.

On the new Ford Escape2009 Hybrid which wire is the new VSS or Vehicle Speed Sensor wire behind the stereo. I opened it up and looked and its not the same as the -2008 and below. All help greatly appreciated, I just want to get a switch on there and be able to use my POI while driving. Thank You!

Ford Escape Hybrid 2009 w/ Microsoft Sync Navigation. Which wire on the back of the stereo is the VSS cable? I have seen the wiring for the 2008 model and it is different for the 2009. I even have the wiring diagrams for the three connectors going in to back of the navigation/audio unit but they do not clearly state which pin/cable is the VSS/Vehicle Speed Sensor. Below is the name of the 3 connectors and the circuit function for each pin.

Post that question at Avic411 forum. They've been very quick in the past.

OTOH, Alldata didn't have info on the '09 FEH yet so they might not either.

I entered a request there and no luck so far. I wish I wasn't so **** poor so I could just afford to purchase the wiring diagrams.

A 2009 vehicle is pretty new to be asking for wiring diagrams.

The VSS wire is usually optional and can probably be hooked up later. It comes in handy if satellite reception is poor like driving thru a tunnel or where tall buildings block your satellite reception. I went for a month before connecting mine in my previous vehicle.

Maybe in a month or so you'll get a reply back or online info will be available.

I appreciate the thought, but I don't think you understand. I have the Microsoft Sync Navigation unit, and have the wire connected already. I want to figure out which one it is to unplug it, not attach it. Unplugged I can update POI while driving because the car will think I am in (P)ark; which of course is what I want. I want to fool my navigation in to thinking I am in park while I am driving.

Oh, I thought you wanted to connect a NAV unit.

Probe the wires with a DC voltmeter. Your vss wire should pulse when you're moving, but not when standing still.

Just happen to have a meter in my car, will do! I take it, that it will be the only cable to change voltage even at low speeds correct?

I'd measure it to ground.

I think at low speed you'll see spike......... spike..........spike, etc.

On my Pioneer Avic D3 (dvd/nav/cd/radio), it involved grounding the radio's parking brake wire and moving a pin in the cable and grounding that. As far as the D3 was concerned, the vehicle wasn't moving... I know, pretty lame considering the GPS still reported movement.
