Variation on pulse and glide?

Re: Variation on pulse and glide?
My lifetime average is over 45mpg, not 37mpg as you claim. Debbie Kate's has a much better MPG than your claim at near 40mpg. I may be an old dog, but I've challenged you title for title may times in the past. That offer still stands!

Gary, sadly, you are very, very confused.
What you said is not what I said, so quit speaking on my behalf, please.
I do not SUSTAIN over 2400 RPM on long hills ( something you do not have in flat Florida ).
I DO exceed 2400 RPM for a few seconds, on some P&G when I am doing all city, without measureable negative effects.
All you tell people is how to save 1 drop of gas per day at the expense of others. The only thing right you have said is you need a bag of tricks, a variety of methods, and I agree totally.
I have tried your methods, and most of them work as you say.
I have tried all sorts of other methods and have found many successful ways to get great MPG... thus, there is not ONE WAY, GARY's WAY of doing things.
Try to have an open mind. It would help you a lot.
It is also a combination of all things at once that helps.
People who must exceed 2400 RPM in the mountains maybe have a lot of passengers or weight in their car, I do not.
Maybe those people have a 4wd, I do not.
Maybe those people have 30 psi in their tires, I have 48 psi.
Maybe those people have a roof rack, I do not.
Maybe those people use different oil, I use Mobil 1 5w-20.
Maybe those people overfill their crankcase, I fill to between the lines.
Maybe those people use a paper Fram air filter. I use a K&N filter.
Maybe those people use 10% ethanol, and I used pure gas.
Maybe those people have a new car, and mine is fully broken in.
Maybe those people have snow tires, and I have ecoPlus LRR tires.
Maybe those people have a newer model year, I have a 2005.
Maybe those people do not have a radiator block, maybe I do.
Maybe there were slight variations in production off the assembly line.
Maybe GaryG is a complete A$$ and that is just coming to people's attention?
Come to my driving area ( steep hills, 20 below zero days, weather with snow and wind, summers of 104 degrees ) and see if you can beat 37.7 MPG. I'll bet you the gas back to Flat, Mild Florida you can't.
