quick question, Can a brokrn tone ring cause car to go into limp mode? won't go past 35 mph?

I replaced one of my front tone ring. While I was waiting for the new part to come in I just completely removed the old tone by breaking it off. Make sure the ABS sensor is not damaged. My car drove fine and got over 40 mph, but there were other issues. For example, it did not go into charge mode when I pressed the brakes.
