Thinking I need a new coolant pump but want to be sure
I was driving home last night and about 20 miles into driving my truck shut down suddenly with stop safely now. I pulled over and turned it back on but it shut down again in a mile or so. I waited a while and went under it with a flashlight and ratchet and wapped the pump a few times, went back in to start it and have driven it over 140 miles without a problem since. I am wondering how likely it is to be the pump, or if it could just be some other gremlin.
Did you read the thread on MECS pump replacement? Lots of good info there. https://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/...acement-22207/
Do you have a Scan Gauge to monitor the Motor Electronics Coolant Temperature?

Yeah, I've read that before. No, I don't have a scan gauge, no money for one right now and a lot of other things are priority first. I'm pretty sure it's the pump from what happened, but I am wanting to have things I can check off myself. It was only like 60 degrees, so it shouldn't the the battery door.
