They bled the brakes with a special computer?? $109
Dianostic - $95
Piece of mind - $0

They said that was step one of three

Step 2 = Master Cylinder
Step 3 = Change out ABS module

Does this sound resonable?

This is the Ford Owners site one can use to look up the service history of a vehicle-that was performed at a dealership.

See if you can input your vehicle's VIN at this site to obtain whatever service history exists. Then have the repairing Ford dealership print out a service history on this vehicle. Make sure the September 2007 hybrid battery harness recall work was performed. It should be a free repair. Sorry about what happened to your buying experience.

Sorry to hear of your problem. I drive an '06 FEH with 72k miles. No problems so far.

The work suggested sounds reasonable in scope. With new fluid, a new master cylinder, a new ABS module, you'll basically have a new brake system.

Is there any recourse to the dealer if they're the ones that gave the car a clean bill of health a few days before?

Hope things work out.

I have a account at that Ford site and all it shows is when I took my FE in for oil changes but doesn't show when I took my it in to address three TSBs a few weeks ago.

So far so good on the fix. Drove about 50miles and no problems.
Wife will not drive the car with our son in the car or alone. This car scares both of us. What a dilema!

Reported brake failure to Ford and FL DOT.
No recourse on the Lemon law in Fl as this was a used car. The law only applies to new car purchase.

The dealer really let me down on this. There was an agreement and it was broken. A report will be filed with the Melbourne, Fl BBB on this dealership. One of those dealerships that really fits all the bad stereotypes of used car lots.
