Thanks, Colchiro, helpful site. My synch clearly is not working properly (though today, out of the blue, it worked as it was suppose to, but it was a one-time thing).

 

You should be able to update your Sync to version 1.3. Then I'd recommend finding your phone under "compatible phones". It should tell you what your phone can/can't do along with specific directions on how to manual dial or voice commands.

We have two '09's, purchased at different dealers. At my wife's dealer the 911 upgrade was free for recently purchased vehicles if you bought the vehicle there, O/W $100. At my dealer, they wanted $50. This is the update that auto-dials 911 if you're in an accident.
