Default something to NOT try with the heads up display

Be careful if you hav a 2020 Escape hybrid with the heads up display. If you try to change anything about the content or its position while you are moving, it can have disastrous results.

ok, I am not totally positive but my 45 years in software (Machine language) development give me a clue. I made an adjustment to the HU display while at a gas station and left before I finished the adjustment. If really was not sure how I want the HU set. I got home and parked the car. In the morning the car was DEAD. BOTH SCREENS BLANK. Gear stuck in PARK with NO way to get it out of park (according to ford). I tried to jump it three times with no result. I had it towed to dealer and he did some magic 4 days later and it started. Got ford involved, they updated 9 chips. When I tried to adjust the HU again this time it said you cannot update while moving. However there is a window of time that you can still update while moving. This time my center screen lost touch capability my bluetooth went to lunch. and I got locked out of my car with the key in the car. My personal opinion is that when the module does an update it overwrites stuff it should not over write if you are moving. Depending on when it does the update and what the update is determines the ugly result.

Sounds like the problem is the moving lockout. On my 09 I'm able to disable it with forscan and I'm sure there is a way to do it for the 2020 so you can keep adjusting while you are driving. I have never had a GPS or other device that stopped working when the car started moving... I'd kill that with passion.

What kind of moronic idea is it to not allow people to re-route when driving. What's next? Can't change the radio because it's "distracting"? Good to see ford's engineering is as great as ever tho.
